# About Kevin Hunt

I'm Kevin Hunt. I'm the co-founder and CTO of [Deep Fathom](https://www.deepfathom.ai), where we're building an AI-native cybersecurity platform for high-stakes environments. It's where most of my time goes.

On the side I make small, useful apps at [Rival Bear](https://rivalbear.com), tinker with maps, 3D terrain and home servers, fly FPV, and take [pictures](https://kevinhunt.com).

I've been shipping software since dialup, and after a long quiet stretch I'm writing here again: about building with AI agents, leading engineering teams, and whatever I'm flying or building at the time.

## Then & now

- 1994: Shipping software over dialup.
- 2007: Built dibs.net solo, on an AWS that was barely a year old, and blogged about Rails here.
- 2009: Joined Yammer early, and stayed through the Microsoft acquisition until 2018.
- 2024: CTO, Cloud Storage Security.
- 2025: Co-founded Deep Fathom as CTO.
- 2026: Started Rival Bear to make small, useful apps.
- 2026: Brought kev.in back to life. Writing again.
