# One of these days

**One of these days** I'm going to start a blog. _It will be perfect._

It will have a [hipster](http://www.lifehacker.com/ "Life hacker") [name](http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ "post secret") and I'll [post](http://www.gapingvoid.com/ "cartoons") [fun](http://sparklepony.blogspot.com/ "random fun photo blog") and [artsy](http://www.absolutely-nothing.co.uk/ "photoblog 2") [pictures](http://www.acloseupview.com/ "photoblog 3") to it. I'll [contribute](http://www.dailykos.com/ "kos") my own carefully considered [commentary](http://gigaom.com/ "Om") to the [heated](http://www.pr-inside.com/rss/sacha-baron-cohen-has-killed-off-his-controversial-character-borat-r40827.htm "borat") [discussion](http://www.msblog.org/2006/12/29/the-google-controversy/ "debate1") _du jour_. It will be a place for me to [wax](http://www.37signals.com/svn/posts "37s") philosophic about [intellectual](http://www.pandasthumb.org/ "panda's thumb"), [political](http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ "huffington") and [technical](http://www.37signals.com/svn/ "37signals") [matters](http://www.randsinrepose.com "rands") that [affect](http://daringfireball.net/ "daring firevall") us all. It will be [entertaining](http://boingboing.net/ "boing boing") but also deep. I will have a hundred thousand readers.

I'll [share](http://nevereatalone.typepad.com/blog/ "never eat alone") [best](http://www.paulstips.com/ "Pauls tips") [practices](http://blogs.pragprog.com/cgi-bin/pragdave.cgi "pragmatic"), [productivity](http://www.43folders.com/ "43Folders") [tips](http://www.escapefromcubiclenation.com/get_a_life_blog/ "cubicle nation") and [programming](http://rentzsch.com "red shed") recipes. It will have cool web [2.0](http://www.emilychang.com/go/ehub "eHub") features. I'll spend time each day writing articles and [reviews](http://www.engadget.com/ "Engadget") of [new](http://radar.oreilly.com/ "o'reilly") [technology](http://www.techdirt.com/ "techdirt"), [new](http://sethgodin.typepad.com/ "seth") [companies](http://www.readwriteweb.com/ "read/write") and [the](http://www.valleywag.com/ "valleywag") [Silicon](http://blog.guykawasaki.com/ "guy") [Valley](http://patrick.net/w "patrick.net").

_Honest_, one of these days I'm going to start a perfect blog. _**Or** I could start something now_: perhaps just a simple picture at the top; a sidebar that shows songs I've recently played in iTunes; and a page with a list of blogs that I read. And then I can just start posting. Whether anyone reads it or not. Yeah. I think I'll do that. Maybe I'll start Right Now.
