I'm Kevin Hunt. I'm the co-founder and CTO of Deep Fathom, where we're building an AI-native cybersecurity platform for high-stakes environments. It's where most of my time goes.

On the side I make small, useful apps at Rival Bear, tinker with maps, 3D terrain and home servers, fly FPV, and take pictures.

I've been shipping software since dialup. Building things gives me a particular interest in the gap between what a technology promises and what happens when people put it to work.

My writing follows AI into the economics and power structures around it: who owns the data, who reaches the customer, who pays for the infrastructure, and who ends up with the advantage. I'm also interested in a more personal question: whether AI can help us understand a world we've largely given up trying to keep up with.

The research section is for the comparisons, methods, and evidence behind those arguments. I'll distinguish what I've observed from what I expect to happen, and revisit conclusions when the evidence changes.
